Revitalise Sydney Road completed a comprehensive survey of parking capacity on Sydney Road in Brunswick. We found that by making 400 council car parks free and creating 150 more angled off street parks, everybody can find a park without needing on street parking.
SYDNEY ROAD HAS MORE CAR PARKS THAN ANY CITY/INNER NORTH SHOPPING STRIP
Traders’ association and council surveys show the peak period for shopping is on a Friday between 11-2pm. Hundreds of parks sit empty because nobody wanted to pay for council parking fees.
